STUDY FOR ADULTS
Open to all
Kabbalah Basic concepts of Jewish mystical teaching for beginners. The classes are given by Rabbi Chaim Tolochinsky, Director of the Tomchei Timimim Lubavitsch Center for Jewish Education.
Torah studies by the oral tradition of commentaries and midrash The courses are given by Rabbi Isaac Rokhlin, a well-known Petersburg artist, specialist in traditional Jewish art, popular lecturer.
Sunday Lecture Hall Weekly open lectures dealing with various aspects of Judaism, Jewish history and culture. The lectures are delivered by especially invited specialists on the Torah, professional historians, experts on literature and other interesting people.
Courses Within the Petersburg Community Center, there are computer courses, as well as courses on the English language and Hebrew for people of all age groups and levels.
For Men
Kollel Courses for men on the Torah, the books of the prophets, the Talmud, Jewish law and the fundamentals of Hassidism
The Talmud for Beginners Courses for men who are just beginning to study Hebrew but do not want to postpone Talmud studies.
Levi Itzhok Morning Kollel for Seniors An international educational program for studying the fundamentals of Jewish tradition intended for people of the older generation. The program was created at the initiative of the Lubavitscher Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson in 1980 and was named in memory of the Rebbe’s father, Rabbi Levi Itshak Schneerson, who was a very important rabbi and scholar of the Kabbalah. The Kolel Levi Itshok Program has existed in the Petersburg Community Center for more than 10 years.
For women
Women’s Club The Club was established within the Petersburg Community Center under the leadership of the wife of the Chief Rabbi of Petersburg Mrs Sarah Pewzner around 10 years ago. The is an association of young Jewish women wishing to deepen their knowledge of Jewish tradition and to learn the fundamentals of practicing Judaism. The monthly meetings are devoted to one or another topic and are accompanied by video materials, as well as by appearances of artists and musicians, the display of works by designers, etc. Once a year there is a Women’s Evening dedicated to the memory of the wife of the Lubavitscher Rebbe, Rebetzin Chaya-Mushka Schneerson.
