Menachem Mendel Pewzner
Chief Rabbi of Saint-Petersburg
 Rabbi Menachem-Mendel Pewzner was born on April 27, 1968 in New York. A graduate of New York Yeshiva “Tomhey Temimim Lubavitch”, he has semicha and is qualified to serve on the Rabbinical Court. In 1992 he became Lubavitcher Rebbe’s emissary in Saint-Petersburg and head of Saint-Petersburg Rabbinical Court. In 1996 he took up the position of Chief Rabbi of Saint-Petersburg. Rabbi Menachem-Mendel Pewzner is member of the Conference of European Rabbis, Chief Rabbi of North-West Federal Region of Russia, member of FJCR (Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia) Council of Rabbis, member of Lubavitcher Rebbe’s emissaries committee in CIS. Rabbi Menachem-Mendel Pewzner is married and has 5 children. His wife, rabbanit Sara Pewzner, is head of Jewish curriculum department of the community’s secondary school “Beit Sefer Menachem”.
